Columbia University: The Fun Never Stops

Ya just gotta love liberals. Today someone using the name “Glen Bek” left a comment on a column I wrote a couple years ago, about the connections between Columbia University and Communism, and I don’t think he had any idea how funny his comment was.

In the opening paragraphs of the column I’d made the observation that “Columbia University has been a training ground for America-hating radicals since at least the start of the twentieth century.”  (I go on to give several noteworthy examples.) Mr. Beck took exception to that statement, apparently. Here’s the comment he left, in its entirety: “Trash-talking a great university. What about all the fanatical right-wing fascist think tanks turning the US into a global cancer? If there is any self-defeating ideology it doesn’t originate from Columbia.”

Bek doesn’t identify himself as a Columbia alumnus, but surely he must be one. I can’t think of any other reason for his defensiveness. Besides, when he describes the United States as a “global cancer” he sounds just like every other Columbia grad. As near as I can tell, they’re all America-hating radicals.
