Friday Links and Notes March 2

Conservatives everywhere are saddened by the loss of Andrew Breitbart. The publisher of several websites on news and politics, Breitbart was an expert at finding and publishing information embarrassing to the Left.

It was Breitbart’s BigGovernment.com website that exposed ACORN’s underworld operations to the general public, building up enough voter outrage that Congressional Democrats couldn’t stop Republicans from cutting off ACORN’s federal funding. BigGovernment sponsored and published the James O’Keefe/Hannah Giles video of ACORN operatives giving advice on how to import under-age prostitutes from Latin America, amoung other things.

Breitbart was never shy about criticizing the leftist bias of the mainstream media, and Rush Limbaugh says Breitbart continues to expose media bias, even in death.

Over at American Thinker, Jack Cashill says Breitbart’s book Righteous Indignation is “the single best account I have read of the media revolution and its political consequences.”

The Daily Caller’s Tucker Carlson’s says Breitbart was “a loyal friend in a business with too few of them.”

Three of the four Republican Presidential candidates were appropriately respectful. Newt Gingrich tweeted that  “Andrew Breitbart was the most innovative pioneer in conservative activist social media in America. He had great courage and creativity.”

During a public speech, Rick Santorum said that Breitbart’s death is “a huge loss in my opinion for our country and certainly for the conservative movement.”

Romney tweeted that he was a “fearless conservative.”

Marching to his own drum as usual, Ron Paul has not yet made any kind of a public statement about Breitbart’s passing.

Rest in peace, Mr Breitbart. You were a great help to your country.
